UW coach Steve Sarkisian, appearing on ESPN’s SportsCenter this morning, said he has not made a decision on potential punishments for Austin Seferian-Jenkins and Kasen Williams, both arrested in alcohol-related incidents this offseason.
Sarkisian said the incidents were “out of character” for both players.
“As much as the law might put some punitive stuff on them, we’re looking at it from a rehabilitative standpoint and we’ll handle it internally,” Sarkisian said. “We haven’t gotten to the point where we’ve made a final decision with them on games and times and suspension and all that stuff, but they’ve been working extremely hard … and have done all the things we’ve asked them to do.”
Seferian-Jenkins pleaded guilty to DUI last week. He was suspended from team activities in the spring but has since resumed informal workouts with teammates.
Williams paid a fine of $695 after being cited in Chelan County in May.
