Analyzing the Huskies’ two-deep after their first scrimmage

So here’s a first crack at UW’s two-deep this month. Note: This is not the team’s official depth chart but a summary of where guys are after eight days of camp and, in some cases, a projection of where they’ll end up by Aug. 31.

With 18 days until kickoff against Boise State, it is, of course, a fluid situation, more so on defense. There is still a lot of shuffling on the defensive line and secondary, and particularly at rush end, with Hau’oli JamoraJosh Shirley and Cory Littleton the top candidates to start there. There is no leader at this point, DC Justin Wilcox said after Tuesday’s scrimmage. Littleton has come on strong the past few days, and he opened with the No. 1 defense in the scrimmage. Jamora, meanwhile, has shown flashes of his old form after battling injuries the past two seasons.

As noted Monday, DE Evan Hudson has acquitted himself well after shifting from tight end, and he’s still running with the No. 1 defense. It seems unlikely he’ll be going back to offense at this point.
