A few highlights from Steve Sarkisian‘s last availability until post-game Saturday:
— Sark said he is “encouraged” by how the players are handling the build-up to Saturday’s game against Boise State and the building excitement of new Husky Stadium. They are “honored and humbled … to be the team that gets to come out of that tunnel for the first time in the new stadium, but yet what will make it special is the way we play the game,” he said.
— Sark said he plans to continue to script the first 15 plays of the game, though there is flexibility in that, depending on the situation, what is working, what isn’t.
— No update in the punting competition: Sark said no decision has been made on whether Travis Coons or Korey Durkee will punt. But he has been impressed with both guys, and with Coons as the place-kicker, and with freshman Cameron Van Winkle as the kickoff specialist.
— The FieldTurf in Husky Stadium is settling in nicely. Sark said he hasn’t noticed anyone slipping on the turf in the last week or so.
Here’s the first part of Sark’s availability. Still trying to load rest of it.
