Sarkisian: Keith Price is in ‘a really good place’ entering Oregon game

A few highlights from Steve Sarkisian‘s final media availability before UW plays Oregon on Saturday:

— Sarkisian said Keith Price is in a “really good place physically, in a very good place mentally.”

— Specials teams remains a “work in progress,” but Sarkisian likes the players’ effort and competitiveness in coverage this week.

Travis Coons will “likely” handle kickoff duties, and Coons will also remain as the punter and place-kicker.

— The Huskies are preparing as if Oregon’s De’Anthony Thomas (ankle) will play.

Lane Kiffin is scheduled to be on the UW campus for an interview with Chris Fowler on ESPN’s “College GameDay” on Saturday morning. “It’s good for him,” Sarkisian said. “He’s staying involved in the game and being active.”

— Because of the quick turnaround before the 1 o’clock kickoff, Sarkisian will not have any live appearance on “GameDay” Saturday morning. (The home coaches do make appearances from time to time.)

— ESPN didn’t ask Sarkisian on any suggestions for a celebrity “picker” at the end of the “GameDay” show. “They can have me do it. I know who I’d pick,” he quipped.
