First glance: No. 13 UCLA Bruins

By the numbers

7: Consecutive losses for Washington against UCLA at the Rose Bowl.

10-2: UCLA’s record at home under Jim Mora since the start of the 2012 season.

34.5: Tackles for loss in the last 23 games by UCLA outside linebacker Anthony Barr, considered by some to be the best defensive player in the nation.

Game time: 6 p.m. at the Rose Bowl

TV: ESPN2

Coach: Jim Mora (16-7, second year at UCLA; 31-33 in four seasons as NFL coach at Atlanta and Seattle)

Record: 7-2, 4-2 Pac-12.

Last game: Myles Jack, the true freshman linebacker out of Bellevue High, had six carries for 120 yards — including a 66-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter — in his first action as a running back to assist UCLA’s injury-riddled offense, and the Bruins held on to beat Arizona 31-26 in Tucson on Saturday night.

The series: UCLA leads 38-30-2. This is the first meeting since 2010.

The early line: Bruins by 2.5 points.

Key players: Redshirt sophomore quarterback Brett Hundley is a projected first-round NFL draft pick. He has completed 68.5 percent of his passes for 2,225 yards with 18 touchdowns and eight interception; he has also rushed for 487 yards and seven touchdowns, both team highs. … Receiver Shaq Evans has 34 catches for 503 yards and seven TDs, and Devin Fuller has 36 catches for 426 yards and four TDs. … Running back Jordon James (ankle) did not play against Arizona. … Anthony Barr, after shifting from offense before the start of the 2012 season, was named the nation’s top defensive player last week by CBSsports.com. He’s a projected top-five pick next spring. … Linebacker Eric Kendricks has a team-high 78 tackles. … UCLA has played a school-record 18 true freshmen this season, and seven true freshmen started in the Bruins’ loss at Oregon last month. … UCLA is wearing a No. 36 patch on its uniform to honor the memory of Nick Pasquale, a redshirt freshman receiver from San Clemente, Calif., who died Sept. 8 when he was hit by a car.

UCLA’s key to success: The Bruins are 4-0 at the Rose Bowl this season, averaging 49.75 points at home. Further, Hundley has a quarterback rating of 171.36 at home, best in the Pac-12 this season; in 11 home starts going back to last season, Hundley has 23 touchdowns against five interceptions. With a banged-up offensive line, it’ll be on Hundley again to keep the Bruins moving on offense, while Barr and Co. try to slow down UW’s Keith Price and Bishop Sankey.
