Three UW juniors to leave team after the season

Washington will honor 17 players during its Senior Day ceremony before kickoff against Washington State on Friday, and four of those will be players with eligibility still remaining.

Juniors DiAndre Campbell, Andrew Hudson and Jamaal Kearse all have enough credits to earn their undergraduate degrees and will leave the football team before using up their eligibility, UW announced Wednesday afternoon. Senior Taz Stevenson will also be honored before the game; Stevenson did not play for UW this season after injuring his shoulder in the summer, and he would appear to be eligible for another season if he opted to do so.

“I am so proud of this group of men, and the investment they have made in their futures and our program,” UW coach Steve Sarkisian said in a statement. “They’re leaving our program in a better place than they found it, and that is a testament to their hard work. They will leave here with a degree from the University of Washington, and a lot to be proud of.”

Travis Coons
Will Shamburger
Tre Watson
Thomas Tutogi
Sione Potoa’e
