Good morning, folks.
While waiting for the start of the Seahawks-Saints on Monday Night Football, I’m guessing the next 32 hours won’t be very productive for many of you. And for me, too: I will fill the time by filling my belly with these.
Speaking of productive, in addition to the records Bishop Sankey broke in UW’s 27-17 Apple Cup victory Friday, the Huskies set marks in many other notable categories:
The Huskies, with their new up-tempo offense, finished the regular season with more yards (6,172), averaged more yards per game (514.3), per play (6.5) and scored more points (462) than ever before. UW’s 1991 team that shared the national championship scored 461 points, also in 12 games, and held the previous record of 471.9 yards per game.
Sankey, by the way, ends the regular season as the Pac-12 rushing king with 1,775 yards and 18 touchdowns on 306 carries in 12 games. Arizona’s Ka’Deem Carey has 1,716 yards and 17 touchdowns on 322 carries in 11 games.
— The Huskies are likely headed to the Fight Hunger Bowl, but it probably won’t be official for another week.
— A major shakeup at the top of the AP Top 25 after Saturday’s craziness.
— Arizona State routed Arizona on Saturday and will host Stanford in the Pac-12 title game.
— One fan’s take on the Huskies 8-4 regular season.
— How about that Iron Bowl finish? If you haven’t heard it yet, the call from the Auburn radio broadcast is an instant classic.
— Hoops: Huskies survive Long Beach State in double overtime.
No lie I had a blast out here in Seattle ! Them dawgs one solid family! ✊ Hopefully be back soon #Woof
