Washington linebackers coach and recruiting coordinator Peter Sirmon is following Steve Sarkisian to USC, a UW source has told The Seattle Times.
The buyouts for defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox and defensive line coach Tosh Lupoi remain a hurdle, but Sarkisian wants them on his USC staff, sources have said. Wilcox has a $1 million buyout of his UW contract. Lupoi has a $410,000 buyout.
Wilcox interviewed with UW athletic director Scott Woodward for the head-coaching job on Wednesday. Marques Tuiasosopo was named the interim coach later in the day.
Sirmon is the third confirmed UW assistant to leave for Los Angeles, joining running backs coach Johnny Nansen and defensive backs coach Keith Heyward.
Sirmon, 36, who played seven seasons in the NFL, was born in Wenatchee, attended high school in Walla Walla and starred as a linebacker at Oregon. Wilcox and Sirmon were roommates at Oregon in the 1990s, and they left the staff at Tennessee together to join UW in January 2012.

I'd be pretty surprised if the next Husky coach is not Doug Nussmeier or Chris Petersen. Stay tuned this week
