Defensive back Cleveland Wallace to transfer from UW

Cleveland Wallace, a redshirt freshman defensive back, is transferring from Washington, according to a UW spokesman.

Wallace, from San Jose, Calif., appeared in nine games as a reserve this season and had an interception in UW’s victory over Idaho State.

He is the first player to transfer since new UW coach Chris Petersen arrived.

The UW spokesman said he wasn’t aware of any other players planning to transfer.

Wallace is planning to enroll at San Jose State, according to the recruiting site 247sports.com
