Happy Sunday, everyone. The Huskies are departing for San Francisco this afternoon, five days before the Fight Hunger Bowl against BYU.
Hope you’re getting all of your holiday shopping done. I’d welcome any suggestions for my wife that would help me avoid the malls. Also, my daughter has asked for hamster. What do we do about that?
— Steve Sarkisian will retain Clay Helton as USC’s offensive coordinator, according to multiple reports. What that means for UW’s Marques Tuiasosopo is unclear. We know Jonathan Smith is following Chris Petersen from Boise to become the UW quarterbacks coach, and we’re told by multiple sources that Tuiasosopo was offered to stay at UW in another position. It’s possible that Tuiasosopo could still join USC in some capacity, but it’s unlikely anything will be announced until after the Fight Hunger Bowl.
— Boise State defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski confirmed to the Idaho Statesman that he’s headed to UW, but wouldn’t say in what role. Here’s more on Boise State’s coaching staff.
— Sarkisian says he will also try to convince Ed Orgeron to come back to USC.
— BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall is not surprised Petersen left Boise State for UW.
— UW-BYU games are ‘always packed with significance.’
— Larry Stone: Many unanswered questions in the Tosh Lupoi investigation.
— Bud Withers on the Cougars’ stunning collapse in the New Mexico Bowl.
— USC pulled away from Fresno State in the Vegas bowl.
