John Turner, a 6-foot-4, 270-pound offensive lineman of Loyola High School in Los Angeles, has given a verbal commitment to Washington, according to multiple recruiting reports.
He is the fourth known commitment to new UW coach Chris Petersen.
Turner chose UW over Colorado. He told 247sports.com that UW was his top choice from the beginning.
“I just love the fans. I think that’s something I wouldn’t get tired of,” Turner told Dawgman.com. “I went up there for their game against Washington State and the atmosphere there was amazing.
“I also love the academics. I wanted to get a meaningful degree to succeed after football because unfortunately, at some point, you have to stop playing. I want to study business and their business school is top-notch.”
