Huskies get commitment from three-star cornerback recruit

Brandon Lewis, a cornerback from Pleasant Grove High in Elk Grove, Calif., has switched his commitment from Boise State to Washington, according to multiple recruiting services.

Lewis, listed at 5-feet-11, 182 pounds, is rated as a three-star recruit by 247sports.com and Scout.com. He reportedly missed all of his junior season with a knee injury.

He is the ninth known commitment for UW’s 2014 class and the second to flip from Boise State, joining Newport High tight end Drew Sample.

“I feel great about Washington and what they can provide for me after football,” Lewis told Scout, adding: ”I felt good about the situation in Boise but I just didn’t have the relationship I did with the former coaches,” said Lewis. “It really came down to academics and relationships.”

Lewis is being recruited by new UW defensive backs coach Jimmy Lake.
