Morning links: Budda Baker named state’s No. 1 recruit for 2014

Happy Sunday, all.

It’s been fairly quiet out of UW during this busy recruiting weekend. As the Dawgman guys noted Saturday during their KJR radio show, Chris Petersen‘s modus operandi seems to be that he doesn’t want recruits to formally commit during their campus visit. Rather, Petersen seems to prefer that recruits sleep on their decision for a couple days and wait until Petersen follows up — typically with a visit to their home — before making their commitment official.

So there’s a decent chance we’d have another small flurry of commitments early this week, though the class is filling up quickly. With 16 recruits on board, it appears UW has about five scholarship spots remaining, based on our early look at UW’s 2014 roster.

Catching up on some links:

— UW’s seven recruiting commitments in a five-day stretch last week was “pretty remarkable.”

— Bellevue’s Budda Baker, who is down to UW and UCLA, has been named The Seattle Times’ top blue-chip recruit for Washington this year.

— Washington State is putting together a deep class.

— The No. 1 QB for the Class of 2015 decommitted from Alabama and committed to USC on Saturday.

Reggie Williams is No. 6 on this list of top Pac-12 receivers from the BCS era.

— Another early look at the 2014 Pac-12 race.

— Freshman Nigel Williams-Goss propelled the Huskies to a victory over Oregon State on Saturday.
