After losing five recruits to Washington, Boise State has now taken one away from the Huskies.
Three-star tight end recruit Chase Blakley, a 6-foot-4, 240-pound native of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, has switched his commitment from UW to Boise State, 247sports.com reports.
Blakley had committed to UW’s previous coaching staff last May.
“I want to say thank you to the University of Washington for the opportunities that they given me. I wish them the best of luck in the future,” Blakley tweeted.
Blakley’s departure leaves UW with 16 known recruits committed for this class, which entered Tuesday ranked No. 49 in the country by Scout.com.
UW has one other tight end committed for this class, Newport High’s Drew Sample, who is also rated as a three-star recruit. Sample had previously been committed to Boise State before Chris Petersen left Boise to coach UW.
Signing day is Feb. 5.
