Former UW cornerback Desmond Trufant, a first-round pick by the Atlanta Falcons last year, has been named to NFL’s All-Under-25 team by NFL.com.
On Trufant, the author wrote: “For all the talk about other young corners, Trufant was the best among rookies in 2013 and has tremendous upside. Trufant was thrown at 87 times and allowed just 42 completions. Pretty solid.”
Trufant started all 16 games for the Falcons as a rookie, finishing the season with 70 tackles, 17 passes defended and two interceptions.
To be considered for the team, a player must be 24 when the 2014 season starts. Here’s more on Trufant from The Falcoholic blog.
