UW, Rutgers to play home-and-home series in 2016, 2017

Washington will open the 2016 season at home in a nonconference game against Rutgers on Sept. 3, Rutgers announced this morning. It will be the first meeting between the two programs.

The Huskies will make a return trip to New Jersey to open the 2017 season on Sept. 2.

In 2014, UW is scheduled to open the season at Hawaii on Aug. 30, with three more nonconference games against Eastern Washington (Sept. 6), Illinois (Sept. 13) and Georgia State (Sept. 20) all at Husky Stadium.

In 2015, the Huskies are scheduled to open the season Sept. 5 against Sacramento State, with Hawaii coming to Seattle on Sept. 12. UW’s third nonconference game is a Sept. 19 visit to Boise State.

In 2016, UW is also scheduled to host Portland State.

For 2017, UW had previously announced that it would host Montana in a nonconference game.

In 2018, UW is scheduled to host Wisconsin to open the season, with the other nonconference matchups against Nevada and North Dakota.

Rutgers is scheduled play host to Washington State in 2015, and the Scarlet Knights will play a series against another Pac-12 school, UCLA, in 2020-21.
