The Huskies are ‘Happy’

Well, here’s a “Happy” way to start the week:

Links:

  • Danny Shelton named UW’s “most important” player by the ESPN Pac-12 blog. Not a bad choice. As I’ve said here before, I think Shelton is in for a big senior season, and I think he has a chance to be a first-round pick next season. But with what the Huskies have lost at the quarterback position (a three-year starer in Keith Price), and with what a Chris Petersen offense demands of the position, it’s hard to pick against the quarterback as the Huskies “most important” position, whoever that ends up being for 2014.
  • This Charles Pierce┬ápiece on the NCAA is highly recommended.
  • On Friday in the NCAA v. O’Bannon trial, Big Ten commissioner Jim Delaney spoke honestly about the NCAA. The trial continues today in Oakland.
  • Newport High lineman Calvin Throckmorton announced his intention to sign with Oregon.
