New coach Chris Petersen has put extra emphasis on creating turnovers at Washington’s football camp this year. Each time the defense collects a takeaway, he sounds an air horn while defenders cheer. He’s tasked the defense to create three turnovers during practice or else run the risk of extra running at the end.
Senior linebacker John Timu was the man of the morning Wednesday because he racked up two interceptions from quarterbacks who had trouble avoiding turnovers.
In the video (above), Timu talked a bit about the defensive performance. He also touched on the linebacking corps, which includes All-America candidate Shaq Thompson and Travis Feeney.
