Video: Brandon Beaver excited to start season opener

Washington sophomore Brandon Beaver met with the media following Tuesday’s practice and talked about winning the starting strong safety spot alongside freshman strong safety Budda Baker for the season opener at Hawaii.

“Me and Budda, it’s going to be pretty good out there,” Beaver said. “We both can make plays. (For) both of us really it’s kind of our first time starting like that. It’s new, but we’re going to grow together and hopefully it last a long time.”

On Baker starting as freshman: “Once you started watching him in practice, you kinda figured it was going to happen. He’s all over the field. You can turn on the tape and you’ll see him running around from point A to point B, which is what (Coach Chris Petersen) preaches. So he’s deserves to be out there.”
