Huskies get commitment from linebacker Ben Burr-Kirven of Atherton, Calif.

The Huskies have picked up their second verbal commitment in as many days, this from linebacker Ben Burr-Kirven out of Sacred Heart Prep in Atherton, Calif.

Burr-Kirven, listed at 6-foot, 200 pounds, is a three-star recruit by 247sports and Scout.

He was named the San Jose Mercury News player of the year in 2013. He was named to the Cal-Hi Sports’ preseason all-state first team this year. According to the Mercy News, he  rushing for 163 yards and four touchdowns on 15 carries and had 17 tackles in a victory over El Cerrito in the Northern California Division III regional championship game last season.

He is the 13th known commitment for UW’s Class of 2015.
