Washington senior defensive end Hau’oli Kikaha has been named one of nine semifinalists for the Lott IMPACT Trophy.
The award is presented to the nation’s defensive player who best represents integrity, maturity, performance, academics, community and tenacity.=
Four finalists for the award will fly to Newport Beach, Calif., for a black-tie gala at the Pacific Club on Dec. 14, where the winner will be announced. The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation will make a $25,000 donation to the general scholarship fund of the winner’s university and $5,000 to each of the school’s of the runner-ups.
Kikaha leads the nation in sacks and tackles for loss. He injured his shoulder in UW’s loss to UCLA on Saturday, but he’s expected to play this week when the Huskies travel to Arizona.
