Huskies morning links: Hau’oli Kikaha a finalist for Lott Trophy

A day after earning all-Pac-12 first-team honors, Hau’oli Kikaha has been named one of four finalists for the Lott IMPACT Trophy. He will travel to the award’s ceremony Dec. 14 in Newport Beach, Calif.

The Lott IMPACT Trophy, named in honor of Pro Football Hall of Fame safety Ronnie Lott, honors the player who best represent the qualities embodied by the award: Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity. The other three finalists for the Lott Trophy are Alabama’s Landon Collins, Duke’s David Helton and UCLA’s Eric Kendricks.

Kikaha, a buck linebacker from Laie, Hawaii, leads the nation in sacks, holding UW’s career and season records in sacks, too. He was also named to the all-Pac-12 academic first team and is also a finalist for the Lombardi, Butkus and Polynesian player of the year awards. The NCAA sacks leader was also a first-team Academic All-District VIII selection.
