Chico McClatcher, a four-star athlete from Federal Way High School, has made a verbal commitment to the Huskies.
McClatcher is listed at 5 feet, 9 inches and 185 pounds with a reported 4.41-second 40-yard dash. He was a standout running back for Federal Way but could project more as a slot receiver for the Huskies.
Here’s a nice feature story from The Times’ Sandy Ringer on McClatcher.
“When he gets in to the open field, forget it. He’s too explosive to catch,” Brandon Huffman, national recruiting coordinator for Scout.com, told The Times in October. “He’s got good top-end speed, but it’s his burst through the line of scrimmage that makes him so dangerous. … He sees the hole before it opens and gets through it.”
McClatcher chose UW over Arizona and Boise State, among other offers. He is UW’s 17th known commitment for the Class of 2015.
