UW notes: On Huskies’ uniforms for the Cactus Bowl, plus video from Lavon Coleman, Keith Bhonapha on improved run game

photoThe Huskies just wrapped practice inside Husky Stadium, their seventh of 15 allotted practices leading up to the Jan. 2 TicketCity Cactus Bowl against Oklahoma State.

The Huskies practice again on Saturday and Sunday mornings before players are released for a weeklong holiday break. The team will reconvene in Arizona on Sunday, Dec. 28.

The bowl game’s formal media day will be held at the Camelback Inn in Scottsdale on Dec. 31 and a coaches press conference with Chris Petersen and Oklahoma State’s Mike Gundy is scheduled for Jan. 1.

UW, by the way, will wear the white and shiny uniforms pictured at left for the bowl game.

Also, wanted to pass along this nice story on future UW quarterback Jake Browning, who leads undefeated Folsom into the California Division 1 championship game against Oceanside High School in Carson, Calif. (and against another UW recruit, cornerback Jordan Miller).

And here’s post-practice video from redshirt freshman running back Lavon Coleman and running backs coach (and recruiting coordinator) Keith Bhonapha:
