The East-West Shrine Game is set for 1 p.m. PT Saturday for an NFL Networks broadcast, and Kasen Williams is the lone Husky on the West roster.

Williams, coming off a major leg injury in October 2013, had a disappointing senior season for UW but remaining an “intriguing” prospect for NFL scouts, writes Dane Brugler of NFLDraftScout.com.

From Brugler:

During Wednesday’s practice, Williams made a number of acrobatic catches, showing off his athleticism, body control and natural ballskills to track the ball and go and get it. He accelerates smoothly off the line of scrimmage and doesn’t need to slow down in his breaks, shifting gears very easily to get downfield. However, Williams has struggled with the details of the position, including his route running and body language both pre and post snap. He will require a patient coaching staff, but Williams could end up being a steal in the later rounds after a year or two of NFL seasoning.

Williams is one of a handful of Huskies scheduled to participate in the NFL showcase games this month. The others:

  • Four Huskies are on the roster for Saturday’s NFLPA Collegiate Bowl: Travell DixonMicah HatchieJohn Timu and Andrew Hudson. That is set for a 1 p.m. kickoff on ESPN2.
  • All-Americans Danny Shelton and Hau’oli Kikaha have accepted invitations to play in the Senior Bowl, scheduled for 1 p.m. Jan. 24 on NFL Network.
  • Offensive lineman Mike Criste has accepted an invitation to participate in the College Gridiron Showcase game in Arlington, Texas, on Jan. 31. (Couldn’t find any TV info for that game.)
