LOI day nears, so does Pepperdine

We’ll start with a few links today.
First, here’s our story today on what to expect as the fall letter-of-intent period begins. I talked with Isaiah Thomas Tuesday and he said he won’t be signing today and probably won’t until the spring. What this means for his future at UW is unclear, though Thomas insists that will be his ultimate destination.
Lorenzo Romar typically holds a little press briefing on LOI day, which will be the first time he can talk about the players who actually sign, which is expected to be Justin Holiday and Matthew Bryan-Amaning.
Our official preview of UW’s season also ran today, which includes a story on the 2006 recruiting class as well as some other nuggets.
Among the many interesting things I learned in doing the interviews for that story that didn’t make it in the paper is that Adrian Oliver’s mother and stepfather are likely relocating to the Seattle area for job purposes, which will only make Oliver’s adjustment to college that much easier.
Finally, here’s a first look at UW’s opponent Sunday, Pepperdine.
As this story indicates, Pepperdine is lighting it up under new coach Vance Walberg, averaging 106.5 points in its two exhibition games. So Sunday’s game should be vastly entertaining for those who like up-and-down basketball.
