SI cover hitting stands tomorrow

The Sports Illustrated with Jon Brockman and Ryan Appleby on the cover will be hitting newstands tomorrow.
The picture of the two Huskies is one of five regional covers that SI is using for its college basketball preview. It is the first time any UW athlete has been on the cover of Sports Illustrated since Sonny Sixkiller in 1971.
The magazine will rank UW 14th and features a short preview of Washington’s season that includes this quote from coach Lorenzo Romar.
“We’ve been pretty perimeter-oriented since I’ve been here,” says Romar, who is in his fifth year in Seattle. “This year we will have more of an inside presence and better balance. That’s an exciting prospect.”
