The latest news and analysis on Husky men's hoops.

The day after

Wanted to make sure you saw our coverage on today’s game.
First, here’s the game story, with Lorenzo Romar stating flatly that his team “wasn’t ready for this” primarily on the defensive end, where the Huskies could never stop the Zags. There’s also some stuff on Justin Dentmon admitting he just didn’t have it during a 2-14 night.
Next, here’s the notebook focusing on some pre-game conversations between Romar and Gonzaga AD Mike Roth (and Roth and Todd Turner talking the day before) in which all sides agreed to continue talking about playing the game in the future. Romar said he wanted to make it clear with Roth that there was nothing personal in UW’s decision to suspend the series for at least a year, saying any talk of a feud between the schools is false. He also emphasized that any halt to the series is “temporary.”
Here’s a column by Jerry Brewer on what a reality check this game was for the Huskies.
And here’s the view from the other side from Gonzaga beat writer Steve Bergum of the Spokesman-Review. Bergum focuses on the contribution by Gonzaga true freshman Matt Bouldin, who Romar praised heavily as “a great player.”
