Up next – Portland State

It figures to be a rather quiet week on Montlake as the Huskies have just one game — Saturday at home against Portland State — and will spend a lot of the week taking finals and finishing up the quarter.
The team isn’t scheduled to practice on Wednesday allowing players some time to finish up academic work and also allow some of the coaches to hit the road recruiting for a day or so.
Portland State is a member of the Big Sky Conference and is 7-3 so far. Here’s a look at their team via the school’s athletic web site.
One of the most interesting things about Portland State is its head coach, Ken Bone, and assistant, Curtis Allen.
Bone worked for the Huskies under Lorenzo Romar for three years before taking the PSU job. Allen played at UW for four years, the last two under Romar, then followed Bone to PSU to begin his college coaching career.
— And here, courtesy of Ken Pomeroy, is the latest RPI. Much too early to worry about it at all, but it does make for interesting reading. You’ll find UW at 61, just ahead of Washington State (67) but behind the likes of Holy Cross, Loyola-Marymount and Sam Houston State.
