DeAngelo Casto transferring to Franklin?

A few of you have asked about rumors about Ferris of Spokane star DeAngelo Casto — who is likely to be a target of UW recruiting efforts for the Class of 2008 — transferring to Franklin of Seattle.
There doesn’t appear to be anything official.
But Vince Grippi of the Spokane Spokesman-Review addressed those rumors in his SportsLink blog the other day, and you can find that here.
You’ll see that Grippi quotes a Ferris source putting the chances of the 6-8 Casto returning to the school as “not good.” But he also posits the theory that Casto may transfer to another school in the Spokane area or also out-of-state.
So doesn’t sound as if there is much definitive there at all yet.
As for how this affects UW, obviously it would seem that it would be easier for Casto to end up a Husky were he to play this year at Franklin. It would also simply make the Quakers the team to beat in the state next year with high-scoring guard Peyton Siva also returning.
