Eastern story mentions UW assistants

It figured that the names of Washington assistants Jim Shaw and Cameron Dollar would come up in connection for the suddenly vacant head coaching job at Eastern Washington.
And both are indeed mentioned in this story from the Spokesman-Review, which will run in Saturday’s editions.
Not much real news on either, however, as Shaw states he hasn’t been contacted and Dollar essentially declined comment. (I had heard earlier there hadn’t been any contact between anyone at Eastern and UW so I decided not to write about nothing happening, but figure it’s worth mentioning now that their names are in another newspaper.)
Both probably would be interested as any assistant would be for any head coaching job, and Shaw says as much in the story. But as you can read, the focus of the story is on former San Diego head coach Brad Holland, who says flat out he’d be interested in the job.
All possible candidates, however, might become a little less interested on Saturday when the Spokesman will apparently report on some possible NCAA violations in the Eastern program. Spokesman reporter Dave Trimmer mentions the upcoming story in his blog here.
