More on Shaw and Eastern

Dave Trimmer at the Spokesman-Review was able to nail down the names of all four finalists for the coaching vacancy at Eastern Washington, again confirming that UW assistant Jim Shaw is on the list.
Other finalists are Seattle Pacific head coach Jeff Hironaka, UNC-Wilmington assistant Kirk Earlywine and former Boise State head coach Rod Jensen. Earlywine has been considered the favorite in some circles due to his close ties to EWU interim athletic director Michael Westfall.
Shaw is attractive to Eastern due to his long ties in the area — he’s a native of Chimacum and has been an assistant at Idaho State, Oregon State, Portland and Montana State as well spending the last three years at UW.
HAWES AMONG A NUMBER WHO SHRUNK: Here’s a good roundup of the players whose vital statistics changed more than a little bit after they were tested at the pre-draft camp last week, including UW’s Spencer Hawes. Hawes, listed at 7-feet all year, and judged to be the 11th 7-footer in UW history, actually measured 6-10-and-a-half without his shoes.
Hawes’ next move is a workout with the Sacramento Kings on June 14.
