Husky Men's Basketball

The latest news and analysis on Husky men's hoops.

Sunday links

Here’s our coverage from today:
— Our game story, focusing on the frenetic ending;
— The notebook, leading off with Ryan Appleby’s return;
— And the best piece of all, Steve Kelley’s column on the lost opportunity of the Class of 2006 and Quincy Pondexter’s assertion that he’s here to stay.
— There is also plenty from the other side, including this game story from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and this gamer from the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
— There’s also this story from the Oregonian on C.J. Giles which should be of interest to anyone who follows Seattle prep basketball. The story (understandably, given its focus) doesn’t mention that Giles also approached UW about coming to the Huskies after leaving Kansas but was told that the Huskies were no longer interested. Giles confirmed that to us in this story here last January.
John Canzano has a good column on how Oregon is trying to adjust to life without Aaron Brooks.
— Cal has a big game today against Kansas State and here’s a good wrapup of the Bears’ season to date. Cal seems to quietly be sneaking up on the rest of the Pac-10. (Not to mention that the blog this story is from has one of the best names ever).
— Also on TV tonight is Portland State at WSU at 5:30 p.m. PSU is coached by former Husky assistant Ken Bone and one of the assistants is former UW player Curtis Allen.
