New Pac-10 rankings

Here are my updated rankings of the teams after the weekend:
, UCLAKevin Love quickly erasing any doubts about whether he is the real deal. Showdown with Cougars looms Saturday (though only before hosting UW Thursday).
, Washington State — Cougars still kings of the state, having already won at both Gonzaga and UW this season. Here’s a lot more on WSU’s win from the Spokesman-Review’s Cougar blog.
-9 — Take your pick of the rest of the teams other than Oregon State. But forced to choose, here’s what I’ll come up with for now.
, Arizona State — The Sun Devils are rising with a bullet, and the blowout of Xavier and win of Oregon gives their 12-2 record some validity. Real proof will come Wednesday if it can beat Arizona, a team it hasn’t defeated since 2002.
, Stanford — Cardinal shot 27 percent against USC but still won.
, Oregon — Got to give them credit for what might be the most meaningful road win of the young conference so far at Arizona yesterday.
, CalBears’ big men weren’t good enough to stop Kevin Love, but then almost no one likely will be.
, Arizona — Not a great weekend, struggling to beat lowly Oregon State then losinig to Oregon at home. Need to get Jerryd Bayless back soon.
, USC — Put them above UW on the theory that two road losses hurts less than one home loss.
, Washington — Gutty effort against Cougs, and continuing to play like that — minus a few turnovers and plus a few more made free throws — will move the Huskies up.
, Oregon State — Here’s the line on C.J. Giles at ASU — 16 minutes, five fouls, two free throws.
