A little more on free throws

I touched on the free throw issue the other day on the blog.
I also did so today for my main story for our newspaper and web site, citing many of the same facts but also adding some new quotes from players and coach Lorenzo Romar. So even if you already read the blog the other day, the story is worth checking out.
There’s also a comment from UW guard Justin Dentmon on his impatience over not starting. In some comments that didn’t make the paper, Dentmon said he didn’t know why he was no longer starting.
“I don’t know what it is right now. You have to ask the coaches. I really don’t know,” he said.
Asked if he was frustrated, Dentmon said “not that I can say right now.”
As Romar has explained, the starting lineup was selected from those players showing the most commitment to defense. With its success of late, the coaches have stuck with it. Romar said it would likely remain the same this week but did allow for the chance that it could change, as well.
UCLA UPDATE: For a good roundup of UCLA news, check the LA Times’ UCLA blog here which has a lot of quotes from Ben Howland’s meeting with the media yesterday.
