Husky Men's Basketball

The latest news and analysis on Husky men's hoops.

January 18, 2008 at 4:46 PM

A few quick notes

It’s planning to be a crowded arena here today.
The Huskies are finishing up their practice as I type this, while Oregon left here a few hours ago. With the Ducks not playing in Pullman until Sunday, they decided to stay in Seattle for an extra day and worked out today on one of UW’s practice courts.
OSU, meanwhile, is due in at 5:30 and a few Oregon writers are here making sure that Jay John is still the team’s coach amid rampant speculation over his future.
UW coach Lorenzo Romar, meanwhile, talked for a few minutes about the value of last night’s win over Oregon.
He admitted that he was a little worried about his team’s mental state after the three-game losing streak to start Pac-10 play.
“I just didn’t know totally where we were mentally,” Romar said. “But I was pleased with how we came out with intensity and enthusiasm.”
Romar also said he the win should “do nothing but boost your confidence” with the way that the Huskies got it done, beating a fully-healthy Oregon squad and “not winning ugly.”
The lineup is listed the same for the OSU game with little doubt that Venoy Overton is securing the starting PG job for now.
