Big game for Bobby Jones

One of everybody’s favorite all-time ex-Huskies, Bobby Jones, may finally be finding an NBA home in Memphis.
In case you missed it, Jones was recently cut by Denver and then picked up by Memphis, and last night, he got a start for Memphis against the Sonics in place of the sick Rudy Gay and turned in a career-game with 20 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists as the Grizzlies pounded Seattle.
You can read all about it here and here and here.
Some irony that it was an illness to Gay that opened up a spot for Jones. It was a brief tussle between Gay and Brandon Roy in the UW-UConn Sweet 16 game two years ago that cost Roy a technical foul and caused him to go to the bench for a long period of the second half — and might have cost UW a shot in the Elite Eight against George Mason.
