The latest news and analysis on Husky men's hoops.

Thursday a.m. notes

A reminder that the game tonight will be televised live on Prime Ticket and Fox College Sports live, and delayed on FSN-Northwest following the UCLA-WSU game. So depending on your system, you may be able to get it live.
—- My preview story today focused on O.J. Mayo, who is almost certainly making his only Seattle collegiate appearance. The Huskies did a decent job against him in Los Angeles as he had just one point at halftime, though he hit some big buckets in the second half as USC rallied to win 66-51. He finished with 15 points on 4-13 shooting. Tim Morris handled most of the Mayo-guarding duties last time and figures to get that job to begin again tonight. Morris said this week he mostly tried to stay as close as he could to Mayo so that when he got the ball, he was limited in his options.
— The LA Times focused its preview on USC’s recent struggles winning in Seattle. UW has won the last three in a row against USC in Seattle. The Times also reports that USC guard Daniel Hackett, who suffered a hip injury last weekend, will be a gametime decision.
— USC’s student newspaper has this preview while the UW student newspaper counters with this one.
IN NEWS AROUND THE CONFERENCE:
— UCLA had a tough time getting to Pullman for tonight’s game against the Cougars. Bud Withers of our staff reports that game isn’t quite the showdown everyone expected a few weeks ago.
— Arizona took a big hit with Nic Wise suffering a knee injury that could keep him out the rest of the season.
— Despite last week’s sweep of the Washington schools, Cal coach Ben Braun is still feeling some heat. This columnist, however, says he shouldn’t be fired.
