Brockman wins team MVP award

Jon Brockman earned his his second straight KJR Radio Most Valuable Player trophy tonight at the annual Washington men’s basketball banquet.

Brockman was a first-team all-districtselection and a second-team All Pac-10 pick averaging 17.8 points and 11.6 rebounds per game to lead all Pac-10 players for the second straight season. Brockman was also a repeat conference leader in double-doubles with 23.
Along with the team’s MVP honor, Brockman received the Tyee Sports Council Community Service award and shared the Coaches Award with freshman forward Darnell Gant (Los Angeles, Calif./Crenshaw), who sat out the season as a red-shirt. Brockman also garnered the Harshman Trophy, recognizing the team’s top rebounder, for the third consecutive year. Next season, he will try to become the first player in school history to lead UW rebounders four times.
