Fortier staying put as Agel gets Brown job

Paul Fortier will remain as an assistant at Washington after Jesse Agel was named as the new head coach at Brown this weekend.
Fortier, a UW assistant the past three years, was reportedly one of three finalists for the job and had an official interview at the school recently.
Unless one of the assistants gets involved in another job, this figures to mean the UW staff will remain intact for for the fourth straight year. Cameron Dollar was a finalist for the head coaching job at Sacramento State earlier this year but didn’t get it. Jim Shaw is UW’s other assistant.
Dollar has been at UW for the entire Lorenzo Romar era; Shaw joined four years ago, in time for the first of the two straight trips to the Sweet 16; Fortier, also a former Husky player, came on a year later, replacing Ken Bone, who left for Portland State.
As for the discussion in the “garbage” post, I’ll try to summarize some of my thoughts a little later.
