Conroy, Appleby waiting for D-League draft

While a lot of former Huskies are beginning new seasons with pro teams, Will Conroy and Ryan Appleby are still waiting to see what this year has in store.
UW coach Lorenzo Romar said today that each is waiting for the NBA Developmental League Draft on Nov. 7, anticipating playing in that league this season.
Conroy has spent all or part of the past three seasons in the D-League, also earning a couple NBA call-ups along the way. He also spent much of last year in Italy but said when he returned last spring he wanted to stay in the USA this year, thinking that remains his best path to a permanent NBA job. He was on the summer league rosters of Cleveland and New Jersey.
Appleby also weighed heading overseas but for now has decided to try his hand at the D-League, having earned some promising reviews during pre-draft tryouts last spring.
The other senior from last year’s team, Tim Morris, is playing in Germany (stats here).
