Brockman takes a hit

Jon Brockman will be sporting a fresh battle wound when the Huskies host Portland State on Sunday.
The senior forward showed up for practice today with nine stitches under his left eye to repair an injury suffered in practice Tuesday.
“I got an Artem Wallace head butt,” Brockman said. “A little taste of my own medicine.”
Brockman said the injury shouldn’t leave any lasting damage.
“Hopefully a cool scar, but that’s it,” he said.
Brockman said the stitches will remain in place until Monday, the day after UW’s game with Portland State, which is a 5 p.m. tip off.
“This will be me,” he said, pointing to the stitches.
Brockman said it’s just the latest of many wounds he has suffered in rugged practices through the years.
He said he had his lip stitched up this fall after a collision with Matthew Bryan-Amaning and also had two stitches on his tongue his freshman year.
