UW, Seattle U. to play March 3

Have just arrived in Eugene, where there is a bit of news. Washington has agreed to play Seattle University on March 3 in a game to replace the contest the Huskies lost when the Lehigh matchup was cancelled due to inclement weather.
UW had been scheduled to play Lehigh on Dec. 23, but the game was postponed when Lehigh was unable to get to Seattle. After a few attempts to reschedule the game, it was cancelled and UW approached Seattle U. about filling the spot.
Seattle U., which is making the move up to Division I, also had an opening in its schedule, allowing for the two teams to play this season.
The game will be played at Hec Ed with an 8 p.m. tipoff and will be televised live on FSN. That is the same week UW will close the regular season against WSU on March 7, allowing an opening in the schedule that week for another game.
UW and Seattle U. had earlier announced a series to begin next season.
Fans who had tickets to the Lehigh game can use that ticket for admission to the game against Seattle U. with the same seat location. Tickets will go on sale Friday through the Husky Ticket Office by calling (206) 543-2200 or by purchasing online on GoHuskies.com. Tickets are priced at $30 for all seats with backs, $25 for bleacher seating without backs and $10 for UW students.
Scheduling a game against Seattle U. will assure 31 regular-season games for the Huskies.
It will be the first meeting between the two schools since 1979, an 83-77 Huskies win. Seattle U. then dropped out of D-I, and the two schools no longer played.
