King Hoopfest Monday

A quick note to remind all that there’s a great day of high school basketball at Hec Ed Monday with the annual King Holiday Hoopfest.
Fans will get a chance to see UW signee Abdul Gaddy and his Bellarmine Prep team, as well as the heated Franklin-Garfield rivalry (and possibly highly-touted Builldog Tony Wroten Jr. if his ankle cooperates) as well as Kentwood and junior center Josh Smith, regarded as 2010 recruit in the state, if not the West.
Here’s the schedule:
9:30 a.m. Boys, Bellevue Christian vs. King’s
11 a.m. Girls, Kentwood vs. Bellarmine Prep
12:30 p.m. Boys, Kentwood vs. Bothell
2 p.m. Martin Luther King Jr. celebration
2:30 p.m. Jim Reding Classic: Boys, Decatur vs. Federal Way
4 p.m. Safeco Showcase: Boys, Rainier Beach vs. Dominguez (Compton, Calif.)
6 p.m. Boys, Bellevue vs. Bellarmine Prep
7:30 p.m. Boys, Franklin vs. Garfield
Tickets: $6 students with ASB cards and seniors 55 and over; $10 adults
And here’s a story from our paper today with a good breakdown of the games.
