UW a No. 5 seed in latest Bracketology

The latest Bracketology is out and the Huskies are listed as a No. 5 seed, playing Kansas State in Portland, with a possible second-round matchup against either Illinois or Western Kentucky.
Illinois would be a rematch of the second-round tourney game in 2006 won by UW to get the Huskies into the Sweet 16.
For what I think is the first time this year, there are six Pac-10 teams included — UCLA, UW, Arizona State, USC, Cal and new entry Arizona. Only twice has the Pac-10 had six teams in the tournament, including last season.
Also, UCLA’s Alfred Aboya was named as the Pac-10 Player of the Week today beating a group of nominees that included Washington’s Quincy Pondexter. The award is voted on by the members of the Pac-10 office. Pondexter scored more than Aboya in the two games, averaging 20.5 to Aboya’s 16.5, but Aboya had more rebounds (9.5 to 7). Maybe more importantly in the eyes of the voters, UCLA got a sweep of high-profile home games against USC and Notre Dame while UW obviously lost on Thursday night at Cal. Players on teams that win both games over the weekend usually get the nod.
Still, no Husky has yet to win the award this season.
