Oregon game in HD, other notes

For those who want more Huskies in HD, you’re in luck this Saturday as the UW-Oregon game is an FSN national game, meaning it will be available in high definition (so you’ll get that much better of a look at those great Oregon unis).
That game starts at noon.
Thursday night’s game is an 8 p.m. start and is on FSN-NW so it is not a national game and not on HD.
The announcers Thursday are Kevin Calabro and Francis Williams. Saturday it’s the usual FSN team for national games of Barry Tompkins and Dan Belluomini.
IN OTHER NEWS. …
— Times columnist Bud Withers examines whether six Pac-10 teams will get bids (I think probably only five will).
Mike Tokito of the Oregonian also addresses that question, pointing out that even asking it says a lot about how well the conference has rebounded this year from all the big personnel losses of last season.
— Cal center Jordan Wilkes announced this week he won’t return for his senior season (not for the NBA, just to pursue other interests). The Bears don’t have any seniors so they figure to be a contender next year anyway, but even more so if Wilkes had come back.
All for now.
