My Top 25

Another week of carnage in college basketball, especially with some highly-rated teams like Duke losing twice, and others like Louisville suffering really decisive losses.
No change at the top, however, as the top four teams all emerged unscathed. My biggest mystery team at the top is Memphis — are the Tigers really that good? They didn’t look like it early, and their conference isn’t very good. But the Gonzaga win two weekends ago was impressive, and the record is gaudy.
As for the Huskies, they moved up a few spots in my poll and are the top Pac-10 team rated, which I think is here they should be given their standing atop the conference poll and having beaten UCLA and ASU head-to-head. I also put Cal back in the poll and for the first time in a while (I think all year, actually) I have four Pac-10 teams rated.
Arizona deserves consideration, as well, but like the Huskies, UA now hits the road for a few games that will really tell a lot — the Wildcats play at ASU Sunday, then WSU and UW the following week.
New entries this week are Dayton and Utah. Utah is 11th in the RPI right now and has wins over Gonzaga and LSU, the latter by 30 points. Dayton beat Xavier this week to emerge at the moment as the top team in the Atlantic 10 and earlier in the year beat Marquette.
