Friday a.m. links

A sunny Friday, but there are Cougars in the forecast for Saturday. …
— Saturday’s game is the last for one of the greatest Huskies of all time, so we have two pieces on Jon Brockman today. Lynn Thompson, who covers the Snohomish area for us, wrote this story on Brockman’s impact on his hometown, and the influence his hometown had on making him the player he is. Percy Allen wrote this story on the three seniors , including Justin Dentmon and Artem Wallace.
— Want to know exactly which officials call what in the Pac-10? Nick Daschel has an interesting breakdown referencing a web site that tallies calls made by all college officials. One conclusion? Dave Libbey isn’t quite as much a friend to the road team as is often thought.
— The Spokesman-Review reports that Taylor Rochestie practied with the Cougars Thursday and should be able to play tomorrow. He jammed some fingers earlier in the week.
— The WSU student newspaper has this preview of the game, noting the stakes involved for the Cougars’ post-season hopes.
— Not to be outdone, the UW student paper has this preview with an emphasis on the Pac-10 title implications for the Huskies.
— In the wake of Cal’s win over Arizona last night, Greg Hansen of the Arizona Daily Star speculates that if Lute Olson had retired last year, Mike Montgomery would be coach of the Wildcats right now. That would have changed things quite a bit the last few years.
— The Oregonian with its usual collection of Pac-10 links.
— UW is 14th in the RPI, which is probably right around where it figures to stay barring a loss Saturday, one reason everyone sees a 3-4 seed in the offing.
All for now.
