Husky Men's Basketball

The latest news and analysis on Husky men's hoops.

Quick look at the schedule

A few of you have asked about UW’s schedule for next season.
It’s not completed yet, and may not be for a few weeks, not uncommon in college basketball where schedules are often fluid well into the spring.
But a few things are certain.
— UW will play in the Wooden Classic set for Dec. 12, 2009. This is the annual doubleheader held in Anaheim and the Huskies played in it in the 2005-06 season against New Mexico. UW will likely play a similar-type team though its opponent is not yet set. UCLA will play in the other game.
— The Huskies will host the Athletes in Action Basketball Classic Nov. 13-15 which will also feature Belmont, Portland State and Wright State. The Huskies will play all three teams (here’s more info on that tournament).
— UW will host Texas A&M and play at Texas Tech in the Pac-10/Big 12 Hardwood Series, playing two games next year in that series instead of just one.
— Other non-conference foes include a home game with Cal State-Northridge, which won the Big West and gave Memphis a scare in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. CSUN, however, may not be as good next year, losing its top three scorers to graduation.
— Gonzaga, just to be clear, is not on the schedule.
