Here’s who Romar better get in 2015

So I’m finally catching up on my reading from the weekend when I check the New York Times Magazine cover story on Sunday on the latest youth basketball phenom and realize that “hey, that school is just a couple of miles from my house.”
In fact, Allonzo Trier, the subject of this lengthy profile, attends Sequoyah Middle School in Federal Way — not too far from the palatial Condotta homestead — and plays for Seattle’s Rotary AAU team.
I’d never heard of Trier until reading that story but there’s all kinds of stuff on him on the web, including this YouTube clip calling him the No. 1 seventh-grade prospect in the country — though the NYT story says he’s in sixth grade, noting that he was held back a year after being diagnosed with a learning disability.
Here, also, is a scouting profile of Trier.
The story also points out that some of Trier’s academic expenses are being paid for by the Brandon Roy Foundation.
Whatever the case, sounds like the Seattle basketball talent pipeline is far from drying up anytime soon.
